Armani Inspired Portrait Shoot

Good morning all :o) What a lovely morning it is in Sydney - fresh, warm, alive with the blossoms of jasmine and gardenia flowers. The sun is shining brilliantly and this makes me happy!

Over the last few months I've been doing a lot of studio shooting with models and make-up artists and must say it's been wonderful! The people I've worked with have been ultra professional, passionate and creative. So I'm sending out a big thank you to all of those models and creatives.

This is Michael Weinand. We worked in the studio together to create an Armani inspired set of photographs - classical and stylish. The lighting set-up was more complex than usual and I reveled in creating such a classic, masculine set to work on.

I update regularly on my Facebook page so come visit me there to see new work, links, art and photographs : CLICK HERE

I'll be back soon with more recent work and art so do come visit me again in The Dreamers Garden.

Until next time....let's celebrate spring!

Moon Goddess

Gosh it's been a while since I've updated here in The Dreamers Garden. I have been busy shooting with fellow creatives and working on new drawings which I will show over the next week - so come visit me again soon.

Here is my recent editorial shoot 'Moon Goddess' with model/actress Hayley Hughes, and hair and make-up artist Margaux Ginguene. I did the styling, the sets, photography and retouching.

To create is to be alive!

Alice in Wonderland - Part 2

"Mad Hatter: "Why is a raven like a writing-desk?"
"Have you got the riddle yet?" the Hatter said,
turning to Alice again.
"No, I give up" Alice replied "What's the answer?"
"I haven't the slightest idea" said the Hatter.

Working again with a fantastic team and model Chrissy Bruzzese, the Tea Party scene from Alice in Wonderland was created.

Cakes, biscuits, tea cups and saucers, tea pots, Alice's dress, table pieces, the Hatter's hat, sunlight, creative minds, creative collaboration - a brilliant experience.

Watching, watching.....the mysterious Cheshire cat watches Alice!

Like my page on Facebook and join in the creativity with regular updates and full portfolio of photographs and artwork!

Until next time....

Alice in Wonderland - Part 1

"Why, sometimes, I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

'Alice in Wonderland' by Lewis Carol

How time flies! It's July already and the weather is cold, sunny and lovely here in Sydney.
June has been a productive and exciting month creatively so I'm back to share some new work with you, done with a team of wonderful people: Desmond Fong, Belinda Vecchio and Chrissy Bruzzese. A big thank you to my team mates!

This is part 1 of an Alice in Wonderland shoot I did. I love fashion and creative portrait photography so began with this classic tale. Chrissy Bruzzese is the model and contributed her acting skills and ideas to the shoot - she was brilliant to work with and I recommend her to anyone needing a model or actress for work.

"If you drink much from a bottle marked 'poison' it is certain to disagree with you sooner or later."

'Alice in wonderland' by Lewis Carol.

We started out shooting the 'Drink Me' scene of Alice in Wonderland and recently followed it up with a shoot of the Mad Hatters Tea Party which I'm excited about editing and revealing here soon.

Come visit me again soon in The Dreamers Garden for Part 2 of Alice in Wonderland!

Until then....."Curiouser and curiouser!"

Work in Progress

"There are many ways to be free. One of them is to transcend reality by imagination, as I try to do."
Anais Nin

Working away on my fourth drawing in a series of five - The Five Senses. This one is Scent and it's coming together nicely. Creating my world. Drawing and writing and taking the time to drift. When will our work ever be done? Never.

Autumn Rain

Rain, low cloud, atmosphere - Sydney is putting on quite a show for Autumn. Ever alive and bustling (and increasingly creative) Sydney is rich with activity, exhibitions, events, walks and talks.

It's been a busy few months with projects in the works, lots of outings, classes, time with my boy and cooking (banana cake, pasta, spaghetti, lasagna, apple and cinnamon cake, taco's).

With a little exploration into Pictorialism and it's effect on photography, I was inspired to create these shots of Sydney.

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up,
snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing
as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.

John Ruskin

There are many disappointments in life, so I look for beauty - in a storm, in the fog, in a flower, in a moments embrace, in laughter. I find it everywhere, even in the dark.

And the sun comes in golden splendor through the last moments of the storm, lighting the fog with brilliance.

Until next time...

Sound (120cm x 42cm)

I have recently been back at the easel, making two new artworks with conte crayons on paper, based on the concept of The Five Senses. Each is a rearrangement of the senses, somewhat psychedelic and intended to flow.

Sight (120cm x 42cm)

They are reasonably large and are vibrant in colour.
Oh colour, thou art wonderful!!

Taste (120cm x 42cm)

Taste is my most recent and favourite to date. I am about to begin work on Scent and have ready a colour scheme and set of ideas. My photographic work and poetry is still growing and I look forward to sharing more with you soon.

Here are the three drawings together. When the last two are complete, I want them to be a carnival of colour when displayed!

Until next colour!
